Just to tell you a little bit about myself and how I became a counsellor.

I started my professional career not as a counsellor but as a nurse. I left Ireland when I was 18yrs to go to London to study to be a nurse. However as much as I enjoyed nursing and all aspects of health education I felt more drawn toward people’s psychological problems than their physical problems. When nursing in London I worked as a volunteer doing telephone counselling. As a consequence I became inevitably involved in the world of psychotherapy and counselling.

As time went by I emegrated to Perth in Western Australia and I began to realise that my focus had totally shifted to counselling, which led me to study for, and complete a Bachelor degree in counselling. I later trained to work with couples and families.
